Poor marketing positioning. Jagex/Insight Ventures still depend mainly on online advertising and word of mouth
OSRS Fire Cape. Some exceptions include the gamer award and occasionally, TV advertisements in a few countries. They bring Jagex/Insight Ventures to the attention and awareness of those who otherwise would not be aware.
The only other mainstream mentions of Runescape tend to be in news reports in which the tone is negative (theres been a handful of pedophile/ scammer instances in the past) that may draw attention, but not usually in the manner desired.
SORWT SOF attempts to preserve cash flow in a decline community. This includes people stopping playing, growing up and the number of new players dropping out each year. It doesn't solve the problems I mentioned above. This is a minimal cost way to fix a problem however it is causing more. I am not a CFO, and I don't have access to the books however the frequent tweaks suggest that it is not working as intended.
It has many problems beginning with the obvious rules changes that were made to make it more salable (RWT!). that is a topic most people don't like) to the fact that it is of no use to the gameplay generally ( tacked on content was a regular early description) but its something alot of us have got used to and use
Buy OSRS Power Leveling on a regular basis (@ least the free dailies and skilling/killing drops) & would probably cause the rants to rise once more if it were to be eliminated completely.
